Jetstar Selects digEplayer XT™ For Portable In-flight Entertainment Solution
SPRINGVILLE, Utah - September 12, 2006 - digEcor™ announced today that Jetstar has chosen the digEplayer XT™ for their portable in-flight entertainment (IFE) solution for their new international fleet. Use of the unit will begin in November.
The digEplayer XT is the latest generation of the award-winning digEplayer®, the world's first portable Audio/Video-On Demand IFE system. Like its predecessor, the digEplayer XT is preprogrammed with movies, television shows, cartoons, videos, music, and games, but also has an eight-inch TFT screen (30% more viewing area than a seven inch screen), built-in card swipe, and wireless technology. The digEplayer XT has a longer battery life and more content selection than any other player on the market. Initial flights of Jetstar's international long-haul services will be on a fleet of Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Configured into two cabins, StarClass and Economy, the aircraft has a total capacity of 303 passengers. Jetstar will also be retrofitting their existing A320 fleet with the digEplayer XT in January 2007. "I'm thrilled that Jetstar will offer the new digEplayer XT onboard all our low-fare flights," said Bruce Buchanan, Group General Manager Commercial, Jetstar. "The digEplayer XT is another way we can lead the market in delivering the best entertainment experience to our customers while meeting our requirements for low-cost implementation and operation. This unit has it all." Over 28 airlines have chosen the digEplayer. More airlines will announce their selection of the digEplayer soon. "We are excited about the opportunity to launch the XT with Jetstar on its new long-haul routes and also over time on its short-haul routes," said Brent Wood, CEO of digEcor. "Thanks to the cutting-edge design, intuitive navigation and top of the line entertainment choices, the digEplayer will satisfy the demands of the most selective and savvy passengers. The digEplayer makes flying go by fast. Your passengers will not be bored." Each digEplayer is about the weight and size of a typical portable DVD player. Units contain a 60 gigabyte or larger hard drive and utilize the latest technology.
