About L'Avion
On December 1, 2006, Elysair announced that it was re-branding its new airline under the name of L'Avion. The operating company, name will remain Elysair for legal purposes. The airline changed its brand name from Elysair after market research found, to the airline's surprise, that Americans as well as French people warmed to the simple French word for "aeroplane". "We chose the name for its 'French touch'. We will have French cuisine and wine too," said former AOM-Air Liberte chief Marc Rochet, chief executive of L'Avion's operating company.

L'Avion is targeting business class passengers who are sensitive to price. L'Avion will offer six return flights a week using a single leased Boeing 757-200, which will be fitted out with 90 business-class seats instead of the usual 200 all-class layout. The airline began taking reservations on the first of December between Newark and Paris.
