BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, August 13, 2013 – Total Aviation Solutions today announced that it has completed its acquisition of the In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) business including all assets, employees, products and brands of digEcor Inc. The two companies have been collaborating for the past year to manufacture and sell an embedded, seat centric IFE system with the first installation of this system scheduled for Q3 of 2013.
David Withers, CEO of Total Aviation Solutions stated “The acquisition of digEcor builds on our investment in the IFE market. In the past 12 months we have announced our GLIDE embedded seat centric IFE solution and its first customer. We have also invested in our manufacturing capability through the acquisition of Microair Avionics in Bundaberg in early 2013. digEcor bring a very strong position in the portable IFE market and a great team of experienced employees. Concurrent with this acquisition we are opening a new Asia Pacific office in Singapore and will be announcing a European office shortly. All of our IFE assets will operate under the digEcor brand.”
Brent Wood, CEO of digEcor, stated that “With the combination of digEcor and TAS products under one sales and engineering company, digEcor can continue to expand the IFE products available to our customers. digEcor is a recognized worldwide as a reliable supplier of quality IFE players and content.” Mr. Wood indicated that he will be retiring due to health and personal issues.
The acquisition agreement was signed on the 3rd of July and closed at 8am 12 August (Mountain Time). All customer contracts will be honoured and employees retained (except the Wood family).
