Azerbaijan Airlines selects digEcor as full service Content Service Provider

SPRINGVILLE, Utah September 14, 2011 – Azerbaijan Airlines has expanded its use of digEcor services by now sourcing AVOD content from digEcor, the pioneer and leading supplier of portable, in-flight entertainment devices, for its Panasonic eX2 system on a Boeing B767 aircraft. The first flights took to the air in June of this year.

Azerbaijan has been flying the digEplayer L7 since early this year. The AVOD content set includes the same content set provided on the digEplayer L7 as well as some additional sports programming, children’s shows, and general television entertainment. The movie mix consists of Hollywood, Russian and Azerbaijan Movie titles in four languages.

“The key factors in winning content contract was digEcor’s ability to provide quality programming at an affordable cost and meet AZAL’s content update deadlines. Additionally, Azerbaijan Airlines’ executive management has been very pleased with digEcor’s support to date of their L7 program,” commented Content Administrator Jed Thompson.

By now appointing digEcor as our full service content service provider for our AVOD content, we continue to improve our onboard product on our new Boeing 767 aircraft while simultaneously satisfying our passengers’ entertainment expectations.”

Most of the content, such as the Russian and Azerbaijan films and television shows, is encoded in-house at digEcor using its Hollywood approved encoding lab and then integrated by Panasonic. Thompson added, “By taking on some of the encoding and encrypting responsibilities in-house, we are able to control and reduce the cost of content to our clients.”
